This past week, Quebec’s Ministry of Education issued media statements regarding air quality in schools and provided school service centres and school boards with some preliminary data.
The New Frontiers School Board (NFSB) has installed C02 monitors in all its schools and centres. These devices are connected wirelessly so that results can be transmitted directly. The calibration process for each device takes a minimum of eight days following installation. NFSB devices are almost all at that stage.
The summary results provided to the NFSB can be found below. It is important to note that these results also include air quality results from our vocational education shops such as welding, auto mechanics, carpentry, etc. The results were taken over a five-day period, when classrooms were occupied. The overall results represent a daily average.

NFSB takes the health and safety of its students and staff seriously and has made investments over the years to improve air quality. The School Board is pleased with these results that show no buildings have a reading higher than 1500 ppm, which is considered quite good.
More detailed information regarding Air Quality in Schools can be found here.
