Following the health guidelines we received from Santé publique, and after a tremendous response to our transportation survey, we have mostly good news:

  • Our walking zones will stay the same; no increased distances are required.
  • We can continue to provide busing for families with shared custody within the same school zone.
  • We will not be able to provide all Special Accommodations requests, although we are doing our best. If you have made a Special Accommodation request and you don’t hear from our Transportation Department before the start of the school year, please arrange your own transportation for your child(ren).

Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of our students to and from school each day,Transportation Services of the New Frontiers School Board works together with our various transporters and government agencies to ensure safety guidelines are met and surpassed.

Establishing bus routes is a complex task!

Using the most up-to-date technology, our routes are created and buses are assigned to students eligible for school bus transportation; families are notified of any changes in bus number, route, and expected pick up time each year.

School bus transportation is provided to students who meet the following distance criteria:

  • Kindergarten Students

Walking distance of 0.8 km (0.5 miles) or more from their designated school

  • Elementary Students

Walking distance of 1.6 km (1.0 miles) or more from their designated school

  • High School Students

Walking distance of 2.0 km (1.2 miles) or more from their designated school
