Summer Program

Every child’s road to academic success looks a little different, and sometimes there are bumps along the way.

Our Summer Lift courses help students improve their class results so they can move forward with confidence.

Our Ministry Exam Tutorials prepare Secondary 4 and 5 students for Ministry supplemental exam rewrites. Students who register for our tutorials are automatically registered to write the corresponding Ministry supplemental exam.

Students can write the supplemental exams without taking our tutorials (but it isn’t recommended).

The Ministry Supplemental Exam schedule is below.

Summer Lift

If your child’s end-of-year report shows subject results below 60%, our Summer Lift courses provide subject-specific support to lift them to the next grade.
Students review and strengthen essential skills from the past school year and complete a subject-level evaluation at the end of the program to demonstrate what they’ve learned. This will result in a subject “pass” or “fail”.

Online Learning

To help everyone stay focused, comfortable, and ready to learn, here are a few simple guidelines for online summer school classes.

Do:
  • Log in on time and be ready to go.
  • Dress appropriately for class.
  • Set yourself up at a desk or table (not in bed or on the floor 🙂).
  • Stay focused and limit distractions as much as you can.
  • Be ready to take part throughout the class.
  • Keep your camera on and your face visible, unless your teacher says otherwise.
  • Keep your microphone muted unless you’re speaking.
  • Use the “raise hand” feature and wait to be called on.
  • Keep comments respectful, relevant, and on topic.
Don’t:
  • Send private messages during class (unless your teacher asks you to).
  • Take screenshots, videos, or recordings of your class.
  • Eat during class (save it for break time!).

Ministry Supplemental Exams

Organized through New Frontiers School Board

If your child is registered and attends our Ministry Exam Tutorials, they are automatically registered to take the corresponding Ministry Supplemental Exam.
If your child did not attend Ministry Exam Tutorials, they must register for each exam they need to write.

As per Ministry of Education rules, students who arrive more than 15 minutes late to the exam will NOT be permitted to write the exam.

  • Students must have a picture ID, pencils, pens and a calculator in order to write a Ministry Supplemental Exam.
  • If they are writing a Mathematics exam, they may also have a memory aid (1-letter-size paper, hand-written on both sides, nothing photocopied).
  • Students do not need to be in uniform.
  • No SMART devices are permitted in the examination room including cellphones and watches.
